Lebanese Army begins offensive to expel ISIS from Syrian border

Lebanese Army units began the offensive by storming Tal Al-Najasah and Duwar Al-Zinnar near the Shabeb Canyon; this would result in a fierce battle with the ISIS militants in the area.

Following a series of intense clashes, the Lebanese Army announced that their forces had captured the aforementioned sites and pushed to Abu ‘Ali and Al-Dalel Al-‘Aqra hills in the Ras Ba’albak region.

The Lebanese Army has since captured the Abu ‘Ali and Al-Dalel Al-‘Aqra Hills, inflicting heavy damage on the terrorist group’s defenses.

The main objective of this offensive will be to clear the entire ISIS pocket that is located along the Syrian border in Ras Ba’albak.
