SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – A court in Bahrain sentenced an American citizen to 10 years in prison. According to Al-Aalam Mohammad Al-Jashi the lawyer of the accused wrote in his Twitter page that the US citizen was sentenced to 10 years for arson and disorder. The Wefaq site quoted the lawyer of the US citizen Taghi Abdullah Mohammad Taghi Al-Maydan saying the court sentence is politically motivated. Al-Maydan is born in the USA from a Bahraini mother and a Saudi father with American citizenship. This American was accused of torching a Police car and taking part in illegal gatherings near Manama. Al-Maydan’s Lawyer announced that sentence passed by the court is based on very weak reasons and documents and said his client rejects all the allegations against him.
