SHAFAQNA Exclusive: Strong earthquake hit Pakistan’s Baluchistan

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – On Tuesday afternoon a 7.3 Richter scale earthquake hit the southern areas of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province. Tehran’s Geophysics Centre announced that the quake occurred at 14:59:49. The quake hit Pakistan 20 meters under the ground levels but no details of possible casualties have been reported yet. The Pakistani Geological Centre reported that an earthquake with the magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale has hit Sind province in the South and Baluchistan province in south west of the country for 50 seconds. According to IRNA the quake hit some parts of Karachi, Tahtaha, Shekarpour, Hyderabad, Jikibabad, Noshahreh Firoozeh and Mehrabpour. The local media in Pakistan reported that some houses in villages have been demolished as well as some roads collapsed. The local governments have declared state of emergency in hospitals and other medical centers.
