SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – According to Shafaqna’s report from Mashhad, on the occasion of the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (AS), a Thai lady converted to Islam in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS). The 50 year old Pimpavi Kamping from Thailand contacted the Office of non-Iranian pilgrims in the holy shrine and in a simple ceremony after proclaiming the SHAHADATAIN (uniqueness of Allah (SWT) and that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is Allah’s messenger) converted from Christianity to Islam. She described her reasons for converting to Islam by saying that during her trip to Iran, she witnessed how religious ceremonies specially the congregational prayers are conducted and this attracted her to Islam.
This newly converted Muslim believes that Islam is the most complete religion amongst other divine religions and said that she was researching about her new religion for more than a year. The Thai Muslim added that Islam directs people to happiness and inner peace and there are common elements between Christianity and Islam. She pointed to the fact that the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) is one of the holiest places on earth and that is why she chose to convert in such a place as the spiritual atmosphere of the shrine made her feel re-born.
