SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ghasem, the Leader of Shia Muslims in Bahrain said, the blood sheds and the increasing losses to the country must stop. The old widespread pains and the alarming hatreds must end. According to Howzeh News, Ayatollah Ghasem said, the continuation of oppressions and using force as well as insisting on clinching to power in order to put down the voices of freedom, will make the situation worse. He added that this policy will lead to destruction and sinking of the ship. The Leader of Shias in Bahrain believes that discussion without any substance is a waste of time and said that talking and threatening at the same time is not beneficial.
Killing and putting people in jail will not cure the problems. To drive the people to side lines is not the solution and to deprive the population from their rights each time they demand them is not a way forward. Ayatollah Isa Ghasem said a thoughtful approach to negotiations is needed to resolve the problems and involving outsiders will not help the situation. He announced that all the solutions are in the hands of the regime and reaching a resolution requires sincere intentions together with serious reforms which the populations can agree with in a free referendum.
Ayatollah Ghasem declared that based on our religious, humanistic and national views we say that all the bloodshed and destruction of human values must stop. The serious reforms which are agreeable with people’ demands must start. From our point of view the reforms must be implemented in three areas of political, security, legal and civil rights without any more delays. Implementing reforms is the responsibility of the regime and is the only way to bring dignity and freedom to citizens.
